Stable Isotope Labeling
Cost-effective, high-throughput stable isotope labeling for quantitative proteomics.
Veya Peptide synthesizes peptides incorporating stable-isotope-labeled amino acids (¹³C, ¹⁵N, ²H) for use as internal standards in quantitative mass spectrometry. Heavy-labeled peptides co-elute with their native counterparts but are resolved by mass, enabling accurate, matrix-independent quantitation.
Labeled peptides are HPLC-purified and mass-verified, and can be supplied as crude, purified, or absolutely-quantified (AQUA-style) standards for absolute protein quantification.
What We Offer
From single heavy residues to fully-quantified standard panels, we build the internal standards targeted proteomics depends on.
- Heavy-labeled residues — ¹³C / ¹⁵N / ²H amino acids at defined positions (typically C-terminal Lys or Arg for tryptic peptides).
- Quantified standards — amino-acid-analysis-quantified peptides for absolute quantitation.
- High throughput — panels of internal standards for multiplexed targeted assays.
Applications
Stable-isotope peptides are the backbone of quantitative, targeted proteomics.
- SRM / MRM targeted quantitation.
- Absolute protein quantification (AQUA).
- Biomarker assay development and validation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the heavy label placed?
For tryptic-peptide standards we typically label the C-terminal Lys or Arg, giving a fixed mass shift versus the native peptide. Custom positions are available.
What is an AQUA standard?
An absolutely-quantified heavy peptide of known amount. Spiked into your sample, it lets you back-calculate the absolute quantity of the native peptide by MS.
Crude or purified for MRM?
Crude heavy peptides are cost-effective for assay development and relative quantitation; move to purified, quantified standards for validated absolute quantification.
